In the interest of promoting responsible drinking and to honour the various price points of the wines available, a token system is in place.
While these tokens have no value (and cannot be exchanged for cash), you will “pay” between one and four tokens per tasting, based on the price point of the wine.
- Under R100 – 1 Token
- R101 – R200 – 2 Tokens
- R201 – R400 = 3 Tokens
- Over R400 – 4 Tokens
Tasting Stands CLOSE at 4.30pm. The 50ml tasting portion reaches the tasting line that is clearly printed on your glass. Please do not try to exchange multiple tokens for a full glass of wine.

The Pick n Pay Wine & Food Festival Johannesburg returns to The Wanderers Club this August, bringing together South Africa’s best wines, exceptional food, live entertainment, and unforgettable experiences in one spectacular weekend.
Discover and taste your way through 70 of South Africa’s leading wine estates, showcasing everything from elegant reds and crisp whites to award-winning rosés. Bubble lovers can also indulge in an impressive selection of Cap Classique, sparkling wines and Champagne, and make every toast a celebration.
When it’s time to refuel, the Pick n Pay Fresh Food Market offers a mouth-watering selection of freshly prepared dishes, including fish and chips, sushi, vibrant salads, gourmet cheese and charcuterie boards, and much more. The ever-popular Pick n Pay Burger & Pizza Trucks will also be serving crowd favourites throughout the weekend.
Planning a relaxed day on the lawns? Add a pre-packed picnic bag to your ticket and enjoy a delicious picnic while soaking up the festival atmosphere, live music and beautiful surroundings. Picnic bags can be pre-booked as an add-on when purchasing your Early Access or General Access ticket through Webtickets.
For those looking to elevate their experience, the Pick n Pay Tasting Room returns with exclusive, intimate wine pairing sessions. Hosted by a celebrity chef alongside the featured wine producer, each session pairs exceptional wines with freshly prepared gourmet canapés in a guided sensory experience. With only 40 seats available per session, these premium experiences are highly sought after. Tasting Room sessions are available as a R150 add-on to your Early Access or General Access ticket.
Also returning is the Pick n Pay Liquor Mixology Theatre, presented by Diageo. This interactive, hands-on masterclass invites guests to craft and enjoy two premium wine-based cocktails under the guidance of expert mixologists while featuring some of Diageo’s most iconic premium spirit brands. Limited to 40 guests per session, this 30-minute experience is available as a R150 add-on when purchasing your Early Access or General Access ticket via Webtickets.

Fuel up with a wide array of quick snacks and affordable meals – from curries, burgers, pizzas, salads, and fish & chips, to oysters and sushi – while soaking up the live music vibe. While wine and food sales close at 5pm, you can still sit back, relax, and enjoy your food and wine until the event closes at 6pm. |
